New owner is Holly Hillman from New London, WI.
Hello, and welcome to Double H European Skulls. (Formerly Skulls By Dean)
After years of working on skulls, Dean has decided it’s time to relax! I will be taking over the business and I am very grateful for this opportunity and look forward to the work ahead.
I have been working side by side with Dean learning everything that is needed to make amazing European mounts. I look forward to working with existing customers and new.
Years ago Dean started cleaning skulls as a favor to friends and family. Each year it seemed as though friends and family would grow to include friends of friends, and family members that he didn’t know he had. These humble beginnings have given way to a larger business that prepares European mounts, cleans skulls, and restores skulls and also provides wholesale skull cleaning work to taxidermists and trophy shops. His first customers were hunters and taxidermy shops located in New London, Waupaca, Clintonville, Hortonville, Appleton, Neenah, Menash, Oshkosh and the surrounding area. There are customers that drive as far as La Crosse, Wausau, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Minneapolis and Stevens Point to drop off their trophy head or to pick up their finished order, and we receive shipments from customers all over the United States. We also offer an inventory of skulls for sale. Our inventory is constantly changing but typically includes skulls and European mounts of whitetail and mule deer, skulls and European mounts of steer and buffalo, and skulls from red fox, coyote, beaver, muskrat, otter, raccoon, opossum, and other animals.
The main method we use to clean skulls is flesh eating Dermestid beetles. However, we have experience using many other methods that might be used in addition to beetles to insure your trophy skull is cleaned, degreased and professionally whitened and is worthy of display. The process we are most proud of and has set us apart from other skull cleaning and European mount companies is our degreasing process. Without proper degreasing skulls that look white and beautiful when you pick them up eventually turn yellow and gray with time — his is what happens to a skull that isn’t properly degreased. Here at Double H European Skulls we take the time needed to properly degrease all skulls before whitening.
